LOCAL FORECAST

This  forecast page provides  many links  to the  National Weather Service Forecast Office (SGF) In  Springfield  MO. SGF  WSFO  covers  37 counties  in  Southwest  Missouri  and  extreme Southeast  Kansas. SGF  now  produces  and  provides  all  forecasts  products, warnings, and other items. Click on the National Weather Service logo  below  to  obtain  a  wealth  of  weather      information that could not be provided here.

The Area Weather Summary is a statement which will give a weather synopsis of the current weather patterns. Also a description of weather for the past 12 hours will be included. This is updated three time daily...5:15 am, 10:00 am, and 9:00 PM.

Laclede County Weather Forecasts are issued  at 4 AM and 4 PM or when new weather products  or warnings are issued. This link will open a new frame that combines all forecasts, summaries, advisories, warnings, ...etc.

The Ozarks Recreational Forecast is issued twice daily at 4:30 AM and 4:30 PM. This forecast covers the Ozark National Scenic Riverways, Lake of the Ozarks, Truman Lake, Stockton Lake, and Table Rock Lake areas.

Laclede County Forecasts are issued at least twice a day at 4:00 AM and 4:00 PM, and cover a 48 hour period, and include a 4 day extended outlook.

Hazardous Weather Outlook are forecasts for any type of weather hazard expected in Southwest MO. for the following 24 hours. This outlook is issued at 1:00 PM or as needed. Also Special Weather Statements will be posted here. Special Statement are issued when significant weather is occurring.

Short Term Forecast's are issued as an event driven product. Short term forecasts are issued when significant weather is occurring, this forecast will be updated every one to three hours depending on the nature of the weather. Check to make sure of date and time of forecast since they are only updated during significant weather.

The Springfield Area Forecast Discussion is a product issued by the forecaster describing their reasoning behind the forecast they will issue. This discussion is normally issued twice a day between 2 AM/PM and 4 AM/PM.
